SWING GÂTEAUX JUKEBOX
Weekly 90-minutes BYOM social dance
Swing gâteaux was born from a desire to bring the community together to explore and play with the many layers that constitute swing dancing. The aim is to hold a weekly space where people can feel excited, safe, and free to learn and explore the dynamics and the connection that characterize the swing dances (lindy hop, charleston, balboa...) and other dances that are often integrated to swing dancing on the social dance floor (blues, tango...).
In all honesty, many of us want good dances and new music. This is our attempt to scratch our own itch (meow...?).
Sundays
Classes at 2pm and the dance from 3pm to 4:30pm.
Classes will be taught by Rastin, a local swing dancer and teacher. There may also be invited teachers from time to time.
- Drop-in Swing gâteaux classes are $20 and include access to the Swing gâteaux jukebox dance free of charge.
- Swing gâteaux jukebox dances are $5 for drop-ins if you weren't signed up for the class.
Monthly subscriptions are available to have access to everything for a month for $60.

BYOM?
Bring your own music!
Come dance swing with your community and your music. Borrowing from the tango tradition, you will have the opportunity to build your own short set of music (10 minutes or 3 songs, whichever one is shortest) so that you can dance swing to your favorite songs. Rather than focusing solely on traditional swing music, you are encouraged to get creative and select any song that makes you want to swing dance!
BYOM.
Our software can play songs from youtube but no other sources, so bringing your own music means finding the youtube links to the songs that you want us to play.
Classes?
The classes are designed to be drop-in, so you will be able to join every week even if you were not there the previous week.
The topics can be anything swing related!
At the end of each class and social, we will do a check-in to see how people are feeling. This will inform what we teach the following week. If there's anything specific you want, let us know!

Billing
You can access all of your billing information and cancel subscriptions on the portal.
Please remember the email address that you used to register.
Monthly subscriptions?
Monthly subscriptions are charged against your payment method every month!
If you wish to cancel at any time, please use the portal.

We do not have a formal code of conduct yet, but we want this to be a safe space! If anything is uncomfortable, please notify us.
In general, we follow Dance Quarter's policies where applicable.
